Mission and Vision

Vision

The Public Stories Lab is a collaborative and innovative hub for storytelling research, praxis, and pedagogy. We center the stories of our lived experience to build our collective knowledge. Our work is cross-disciplinary, intergenerational, inclusive, publicly-engaged and relational.

Mission

  • We design, implement, and support collaborative, diverse, and ethical storytelling projects within and across institutional and community partnerships.
  • We plan, deliver, and participate in events that share and celebrate the variation and richness of stories and storytelling.
  • We cultivate leading-edge research, teaching, and collaborative practices in storywork across pedagogies, methodologies, and disciplines.
  • We are a co-created community of university faculty, staff, students at all levels, and off-campus partners.
